What is the Heritage Trail Monitor Program?
A volunteer partnership with Friends of the Riverfront to help monitor and maintain the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Individual Trail Monitors typically conduct monthly inspections of trail conditions and surrounding riverfront, document and clean any defaced signage, and communicate findings to Friends of the Riverfront.

How do I a become Heritage Trail Monitor?
Friends of the Riverfront is seeking an active volunteer Trail Monitor for the South Side and Eliza Furnace Trails. Responsibilities include conducting monthly inspections of trail conditions and surrounding riverfront, document and clean any defaced signage, and communicate findings to Friends of the Riverfront. What tools are provided?
All Trail Monitors receive a free membership in Friends of the Riverfront and a simple backpack of tools that include:
- Signage inspection checklist
- Bottled water
- Graffiti remover
- Bike patch repair kit
- Heritage Trail Maps and Activity Guides |
