What is the Three Rivers Heritage Trail group?
The Three Rivers Heritage Trail group is a way for people with an interest in the Three Rivers Heritage Trail to communicate.

The purpose of the group is to allow communication among the Board, the membership, volunteers, and trail users. When significant developments occur, subscribers will be the first to hear about them. In turn, if you have comments or questions, feel free to post them on the group for the Board and other subscribers to see.

How do I subscribe?
To subscribe: simply send a blank email to Three-Rivers-Heritage-Trail-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Yahoo will email you a request to confirm your subscription. Reply to that message, and you'll receive a "Welcome to Three Rivers Heritage Traill" message that indicates you're subscribed! The process takes less than 5 minutes. Then from time to time you'll receive email about the trail, and you'll be able to send email to all the other subscribers.

Important: If you experience any subscription difficulties, please let me know at Three-Rivers-Heritage-Trail-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

Alternatively, if you have a Yahoo ID (or would like to sign up for one) you can subscribe yourself via the Yahoo Groups website. Visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Three-Rivers-Heritage-Trail and follow the instructions on your screen. This will give you access to additional group features, such the message archive, and the ability to turn off banner ads in mail sent to you. Subscribing via the web requires a moderate degree of computer proficiency.

How do I post messages to the list?
To post a message, send email to Three-Rivers-Heritage-Trail@yahoogroups.com. Your message will be delivered to each of the current subscribers to the group, including yourself.

Please be considerate of others when making posts. Attachments are not permitted in group emails. Keep your messages short and to the point. Do not post jokes or virus warnings. Voicing differences of opinion is encouraged as long as it is done in a civil manner. Personal attacks on other members can be grounds for removal from the group. For more information on general email "nettiquette", please see http://www.fau.edu/netiquette/net/dis.html

How do I remove myself from the group?
To unsubscribe, send a blank email to Three-Rivers-Heritage-Trail-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com (If you have difficulties unsubscribing, please let me know at Three-Rivers-Heritage-Trail-owner@yahoogroups.com.)

Will there be advertising?
This discussion group is based on a free service of Yahoo, and Yahoo supports this service though the sale of advertising. In messages you receive, you will probably see a few lines of advertising at the end, or a banner ad.

If your subscription is via the Yahoo Groups website (see above) you can remove banner ads from group email sent to you. Click on "Delivery options", and select "No conversion."

What are the privacy implications?
No computer operating on the internet is ever completely secure, but we will take all reasonable precautions. We promise not to give your email address to anyone else, and we won't use your email address for any non-trail-related purpose. The list of subscribers is visible only to the group moderator.

If you post a message to the group, your email address will, of course, be visible to other members of the group, but it should not be available to non-subscribers. Yahoo Groups has a strict anti-spam policy also.
